Heinz Barmettler (born July 21, 1987 in Zurich ) is a former Dominican - Swiss football player .
Career
The defender came to FC Zurich from Grasshopper Club Zurich in 2006 . He came again and again to partial appearances in defense before he became a regular player in the course of the 2008/09 season. He was also a member of the Swiss national junior team. In November 2009 he played his only international match for the Swiss national soccer team against Norway .
On July 17, 2012, Barmettler signed a two-year contract with İnter Baku . On January 7th, however, FC Vaduz announced Barmettler's free transfer obligation with a fixed-term contract until summer 2013 and an extension option for a further 2 years.
As a national player, he played for the Dominican Republic national team from his mother's home country. He played his first games in September 2012 in the qualifying phase for the Caribbean Cup against Dominica (2: 1), Aruba (2: 2) and Barbados (1: 0).
He came to Germany for SC Freiburg II in January 2016 via the Cibao FC station in the Dominican Republic . Also because of his hip problems, he only made two appearances in the second half of the 2015/16 season. Barmettler left SC Freiburg in the summer of 2016 and announced the end of his active career on August 27, 2016.
