Heinz Cavalier

Heinz Cavalier (born September 3, 1901 in Berlin ; † January 3, 1982 in West Berlin ) was a German journalist.

Cavalier took in 1921 at the University of Berlin , a law school on, but which he broke off. During his studies he became a member of the Alania Berlin singers . He was then from 1924 to 1929 editor of the magazine " Der Leichtathlet " . From 1930 to 1944 then its chief editor. After the Second World War , Cavalier was editor-in-chief of the magazine “Leichtathletik” from 1950 to 1972 and from 1956 to 1970 DLV press attendant. From 1956 to 1960 he also worked as an assessor in the DLV Presidium.

From 1986 to 2001, the DLV awarded the Heinz Cavalier Prize as a journalist prize. Since 2002 it has been called the DLV Media Prize .
