Heinz Frentzel

Heinz Erwin Hans Frentzel (born November 7, 1921 in Berlin ; † November 7, 2006 ) was a German journalist .

From 1938 to 1941 he worked as a volunteer and employee at the Scherl publishing house in Berlin. He served in the Wehrmacht until 1945.

Popularly Ministry of Education of Thuringia he was from 1945 to 1947 as a government inspector in Weimar operates. In the Thuringian Landvolk newspaper , he then worked as an editor for the domestic politics and culture department. Then he switched to the Thuringian state broadcaster, where he was responsible for the state's main political department.

In the state government of Thuringia he worked as a press officer as a senior councilor. From 1948 on he went to the Süddeutscher Rundfunk and worked as a political commentator. In 1949 he started working for the transmitter RIAS in Berlin.

From 1950 to 1982 he had various roles at RIAS, where he worked as a commentator, editor-in-chief, head of the political department and ultimately as director of politics and current affairs. He married Liselotte Hofmann, which resulted in three children. He lived in Berlin.
