Heinz Frommelt

Heinz J. Frommelt (* 1960 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein lawyer and politician (VU).

Life

Frommelt studied law at the University of Zurich from 1980 to 1985 and graduated with a law degree ( lic. Iur. ). He then took over 1985-1988 PhD student at the University of Zurich and graduated as Dr. iur. The title of his dissertation was "The Liechtenstein banking secret". From 1988 to 1989, Frommelt did an internship at the US law firm Hunton & Williams. Between 1987 and 1988 he had already completed an internship at the Zurich law firm Werder & Schaub. From 1989 to 1990 he was a trainee at the Princely Regional Court in Vaduz. In 1992, Frommelt passed the Liechtenstein bar exam. In the same year he became a partner in the law firm “Sele Frommelt & Partner Rechtsanwälte” in Vaduz. His brother Veit Frommelt has been a partner in this law firm since 1990.

Frommelt was politically active in the Patriotic Union . From 1997 to 2001 he was a member of the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein as a member of the government and served as minister of justice. From 2001 to 2005 he was party president of the Patriotic Union. After his party's poor performance in the 2005 state elections, Frommelt resigned from his position. Adolf Heeb became the new party president .
