Heinz Hötzl

Heinz Hötzl (born August 29, 1941 in Schirmdorf (Črnci), Yugoslavia) is a German professor of geohydrology .

Career

Hötzl received his doctorate from the University of Graz in 1965. In 1972 he completed his habilitation at the University of Karlsruhe . In Karlsruhe he was appointed adjunct professor in 1974 and professor for the subject of hydrogeology in 1978 (research focus: fissured and karst aquifers, groundwater quality and material transport, groundwater pollution and remediation, tracer hydrology, hydrogeology of arid spaces, integrated water resources management).

From 1986 to 1992 he was President of the International Association of Tracer Hydrology (ATH), from 1990 to 1994 President of the German Section of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) and from 1993 to 2006 President of the IAH Karst Commission.
