Heinz Hille

Heinz Hille (born March 18, 1891 in Hanover , born as Heinrich Hille , † May 5, 1954 in Düsseldorf ) was a German director and film producer .

Hille began his professional career as a theater manager on small stages in West Germany. He lived in Cologne until November 1925 , after which he moved to Düsseldorf, where he was director of the municipal theaters until 1927. A little later he also published critical writings on the financial situation in the theater industry ( Threat of German theater bankruptcy? From 1929).

Hille joined the film industry in 1931, where he was active in a wide variety of areas until the end of the war in 1945. Initially he directed short and full-length films, preferably comedies, but also worked as a producer. From 1932 to 1935 Hille worked exclusively in studios in Budapest . On August 1, 1938, Hille switched to the dramaturgy of the Tobis production company , for which he also worked as a production group leader from July 1, 1939. On August 7, 1940 he was called up as a major in the army. Wounded in the east, Heinz Hille returned to Tobis on June 1, 1944, but there was no use for him. As a result, until shortly before the end of the war in 1945, he was appointed representative for the use of armaments by filmmakers at the Reichsfilmintendanz.

After the war, Heinz Hille moved back to Düsseldorf.
