Heinz Reschke

Heinz Reschke (born November 3, 1922 - † August 17, 1990 ) was a table tennis player and trainer. He was GDR mixed master.

Reschke began playing table tennis at the age of 11. In 1941 he took part in the German championship for the first time. At GDR championships he was 1949 mixed master (with Annemarie Matthäß ) and 1950 runner-up in singles. From 1948 to 1954 he was part of the GDR national team. In 1950 he was nominated in Leipzig for the first comparison match between the GDR and the Federal Republic. He played in the association Aufbau Mitte Dresden.

Trainer

From 1948 Reschke offered courses for trainers for young sports people. In the period from 1955 to 1959 he coached the women's team SC Einheit Dresden : After two runner-up championships in 1957 and 1958, the team became GDR champions in 1959. At the 1957 World Cup in Stockholm he was the coach of the German women.

In 1990 Reschke died as a result of a traffic accident.
