Heinz Rolfes (born July 15, 1947 in Clusorth-Bramhar ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1994 to 2017 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After attending elementary school in Lingen, Rolfes completed an apprenticeship as a high-voltage electrician at the oil refinery in Lingen-Holthausen. From 1965 Rolfes worked as a specialist fitter in the field of communications technology at Siemens AG, Osnabrück branch , where he was a member of the works council from 1977 to March 1994 .

Heinz Rolfes became a member of the CDU in 1968. From 1974 to 1980 he was deputy chairman and from 1980 to 1987 chairman of the CDU city association Lingen. Rolfes has been chairman of the CDU district association in Lingen since 1987, deputy chairman of the CDU in Emsland and, since 1998, deputy chairman of the CDU district association in Osnabrück / Emsland.

Rolfes has represented the constituency of Lingen in the Lower Saxony state parliament since 1994 . From 2003 to 2013 Rolfes was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament. He has announced that he will not run again in the election for the 18th Lower Saxony state parliament for reasons of age.

Rolfes has been a member of the Emsland District Council since 1991 and has been Deputy District Administrator of the Emsland since 1996 . From 1972 to 1974 Rolfes was councilor of the municipality of Clusorth-Bramhar, from 1974 to 1996 councilor of the city of Lingen (Ems), from 1985 to 1993 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Lingen. In addition, Rolfes is a member of the board of directors of the Kolping Society , Lingen District Association, a member of the board of trustees of the St. Bonifatius Hospital Lingen and a member of the Diocesan Catholic Council.

Rolfes is married and has one daughter.
