Heinz Schüngeler

Heinz Schüngeler (born February 21, 1884 in Brachelen , today in Hückelhoven ; † February 16, 1949 in Schmallenberg - Fredeburg , Hochsauerland ) was a music teacher, pianist and composer.

Life

After school, Schüngeler studied with Otto Neitzel and Julius Buths . In 1912 he founded and directed a music seminar in Hagen . He was also director of the Engelbert Haas Conservatory in Cologne . From 1943 onwards, Schüngeler lived in the Sauerland town of Fredeburg. The piano teacher and editor of musical textbooks composed, among other things, the Fredeburg children's songs . With Johannes Hatzfeld he set songs and poems by Franz Joseph Koch to music . Hans Posegga and Fritz Emonts were among his students .
