Heinz Wismann (classical philologist)
Heinz Wismann (* 1935 in Berlin ) is a German classical philologist and historian of philosophy .
Life
Wismann works in France and is associated with the École de Lille . He is currently directeur d'études at EHESS . From 1986 to 2007 he was editor of the «Passages» series of the Éditions du Cerf . In Germany he was head of the research facility of the Evangelical Study Community (FEST) in Heidelberg from 1987 to 2003 .
Wismann is the son of Heinz Wismann , head of the literature department in the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda and Vice President of the Reich Chamber of Literature (1935–1937).
His main research interests are ancient Greek philosophy and hermeneutics as well as the afterlife of Kantian criticism ( Humboldt , Schleiermacher , Dilthey , Cassirer , Benjamin ).

- 2012: Prix européen de l'essai Charles Veillon (European Essay Prize Charles Veillon) for his autobiography Penser entre les langues Albin Michel, Paris 2012.
