The Hejiang Bridge ( Chinese  合 江长江 二桥 ) is a cable-stayed bridge that leads the Chengdu-Chongqing ring road over the Yangtze River in the Chinese province of Sichuan . It is located 35 km east of Luzhou and is only the second bridge in the province after the Bosideng Bridge , which crosses the Yangtze. The project was originally named Hejiang Bridge 2 to distinguish it from the Bosideng Bridge, first known as Hejiang Bridge 1 .

The main bridge is designed as an 840 m long double-hip cable - stayed bridge with a span of 420 m. This is followed by an 840 m long fore bridge in the east. The western of the two Y-shaped pylons is 208 m high and the highest pylon of a cable-stayed bridge in the province of Sichuan. The bridge rises to the west to match the level of the steep west bank of the river. The bridge over the water at a height of 100 m is therefore one of the highest Yangtze bridges.
