Hejkal is a Czechoslovak fairy tale film directed by Pavel Kraus, shot in 1978. It is based on the fairy tale of the same name by Karel Čapek . In 1986 the television film was dubbed into German and broadcast for the first time on East German television .

The forest spirit Hejkal would like to be human. With the help of his clever godmother, he becomes a chimney sweep who outsmarts the stupid king and falls in love with a peasant girl.
