Helblinghaus (Innsbruck)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Helblinghaus in Innsbruck's old town is known for its baroque stucco facade.

The originally Gothic town house from the 15th century was acquired in 1725 by Johan Fischer, the treasurer of the Hall mint, and at this time probably received his lush baroque stucco work with flower tendrils, bunches of fruit, from the plasterer Anton Gigl from Wessobrunn, who moved to Innsbruck around 1723 , Clams and putti.

The oriels were originally decorated with late Gothic decorations. Remnants of this came to light during a restoration in 1932 on the southern bay window.

The house is named after Sebastian Hölbling (Helbling), who owned it from 1800 to 1827.
