Helena Bobińska (also Elena Fedorowna Bobińskaja, born May 9, 1887 in Warsaw , † June 9, 1968 there ) was a Polish writer .

Life

Bobińska was a member of the Social Democracy of the Kingdom of Poland and Lithuania (Socjaldemokracja Królestwa Polskiego i Litwy, SDKPiL). Most of her children's books are written in the style of Socialist Realism . Her children's book “Die Rache des Kabunauri”, published in Poland in 1930 and in 1931 by the Berliner Verlag der Jugendinternationale in German, was particularly successful. The novel is about the Georgian orphan boy Niko, who rebels against traditional tribal traditions and campaigns for the newly emerging Soviet Union . The book was placed on the list of harmful and undesirable literature in the German Reich (p. 13). After the Second World War , the novel was published twice in the German Democratic Republic . A new edition followed in 2003 by BS Verlag Rostock in the series Das burnt book . Bobińska's books have been translated into Russian, Bulgarian, Slovak, Czech, German, Norwegian, Hungarian and Bengali. Bobińska has received several awards for her work in the People's Republic of Poland . She received the Order of the Banner of Labor 2nd Class (Order Sztandaru Pracy), the Order Polonia Restituta and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (Order Czerwonego Sztandaru Pracy).
