Helene Bensberg-Mauthner

Maria Rosa Helene Fidelie Bensberg-Mauthner , also Helene Mauthner-Bensberg , born Helene Bensberg (born June 15, 1853 in Erfurt , † July 17, 1940 in Mannheim ) was a German theater actress .

Life

Bensberg-Mauthner, the daughter of a theater director, stood on her father's stage as a child. She grew up without ever having enjoyed dramatic lessons, and proved herself to be a talented naive early on. She found her first, larger engagement at the Wallnertheater in Berlin, from there she came to the Residenztheater in Dresden and then went to the Germaniatheater in New York. Back in Europe, she played at the City Theater in Breslau and in St. Petersburg. After these engagements she only appeared as a guest in Breslau, Vienna, Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne etc. as well as in St. Louis, Washington, San Francisco, Milwaukee etc.

Her life after 1902 is unknown.

She was married to the actor and artistic director Eugen Moritz Mauthner .
