Helga Kanies

Helga Kanies (born Scheffs, * 1936 in Oberhausen ) is a German skat player , author and pop singer .

Life

Helga Kanies became German skat champion in individual combat both in 1962 and in 1969 under her maiden name Scheff . In 1962 and 1965 she was also German Skat Champion in the team competition of the German Skat Association (DSkV). In 1964 she founded the first women's skat club in North Rhine-Westphalia together with Inge Trebe.

Later she worked as a singer and in 1981 released the single Stich mal hier, stich mal da , followed by the single Hallo Kommissar Schimanski in 1987 .

In 1982 her book Human Children: Stories and Verses came out. To date she has published three other books, including the non-fiction book 18, 20 - just don't fit! . In 2005 she sang two songs for the sampler Ruhrpottschlager .

She is married to Günther Kanies and has a daughter.

Honors

  • The illustrated magazine Das neue Blatt awarded Helga Kanies the golden rose in 1980 and 1988 .
  • she was awarded the silver badge of honor by the German Skat Association.
  • Helga Kanies was invited to the State Chancellery by the then Prime Minister Johannes Rau and his wife Christina Rau because of their outstanding social commitment.
