Helga Stödter

Helga Stödter (born Kloninger ; born March 9, 1922 in Berlin ; † May 29, 2011 ) was a German lawyer and women's rights activist.

Life

Helga Stödter passed her Abitur in Berlin in 1940 and completed her studies in economics in 1942 with a diploma. In 1944 she did her doctorate in economics and social sciences and Helga Stödter began her law studies at the same time. After the subsequent legal clerkship, she passed the second state examination in law in 1949.

In her first marriage Helga Stödter was married to the physician Hans-Joachim Hodeige, her second husband was the shipowner and lawyer Rolf Stödter († 1993). Stödter is the mother of three daughters.

Professional background

In 1945, Helga Stödter worked as a defense attorney at the military court in the French-occupied zone. In 1952 she joined the Foreign Service , which led her to the German embassy in London as a member of the legislature.

Publications

Helga Stödter wrote various works on family law, criminal law and the role of women in society. In 1989, the Helga Stödter Foundation was the publisher of the brochures Women in Management No. 1 and No. 2 by the author Lisl Linde and in 1998 the book "my job!" the author Heike Schock.
