The Helicopter Mountains (English for helicopter mountains ) comprise a series of rugged mountains in East Antarctic Victoria Land . They form the northwest end of the Saint Johns Range and tower west of Mount Mahony . Highest point is 1,700  m of Mount James . This group also includes Touchstone Crag , Mick Peak and Hott Peak from west to east .

The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 2007 in memory of the extensive use of helicopters to support the work of the United States Antarctic Program in the area of McMurdo Sound and the Antarctic Dry Valleys .
