Hellas live

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hellas live was the first and so far only German-speaking radio station for Greece vacationers . Broadcasting began on June 18, 2003. During the season months from March 15 to October 15, he was able to use satellite (Hot Bird 6, transponder, symbol rate 27.5 MSym / s, FEC: 5/6, downlink frequency: 11.604 MHz, horizontal) throughout Europe and via VHF in Crete , Rhodes , Santorini , Corfu and Igoumenitsa . Eleven German moderators in Büderich reported on current German news, Bundesliga reports, stock market tips and entertainment. The station was financed through local advertising. The program reached 340,000 listeners daily.

Although even the German embassy had campaigned for the radio makers, problems arose from a lack of advertising income, the payment behavior of local advertisers and the fact that the radio did not have its own, but only rented Greek frequencies. In August 2005 broadcasting was stopped due to bankruptcy.
