job

Van Meene is known for her portraits of pubescent girls. The clothing and gestures of the depicted young people as well as the location and lighting are selected by the artist. The sexuality shown in these photographs provokes discomfort in the viewer and raises the question of whether the protagonists are already aware of their sexuality and its effect on the viewer.
