Hellin de Wavrin
Hellin de Wavrin († 1191 before Acre ) was a Seneschal of Flanders and a crusader .
He inherited his father Roger III, who died around 1169. in the castle lords of Wavrin and Saint-Venant and in the office of Seneschal of the Count of Flanders. Together with his younger brothers, Bishop Roger von Cambrai and Robert, Hellin accompanied Count Philip I on the third crusade . He as well as Roger and the Count of Flanders died there during the siege of Acre , while Robert de Wavrin was sent home by King Philip II August to secure the abandoned Flanders.
Hellin had several children from a marriage, including Robert II as his successor as Seneschal. His son, Seneschal Hellin II, was known for his participation in the Battle of Bouvines in 1214.
