Hellmuth Lange (sociologist)

Hellmuth Lange (* 1942 ) is a German sociologist . From 1973 until his retirement in 2007 he was a professor at the University of Bremen .

Life

Lange studied political science and sociology at the Philipps University of Marburg and the LMU Munich from 1965 to 1969 . In 1972 he received his doctorate in political sociology in Marburg. His research areas lie in the sociology of work and industry , the sociology of science and technology, and the sociology of the environment . Research projects focused on environmental management in companies, lifestyles and environmental awareness , the handling of political and administrative actors with the risks of climate change and the "new middle classes" in the global south. He had visiting professorships a. a. at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and Beijing University of Language and Culture in Beijing.
