Hello Ladies is an American comedy series co-developed, written and produced by lead actor Stephen Merchant . The series is based on Merchant's stand-up comedy of the same name . It premiered on September 29, 2013 on HBO . The German-language first broadcast ran on March 12, 2014 on Sky Atlantic HD . After the first season, the series was discontinued, however a film was produced to conclude the series.

Stuart is an English gentleman based in Los Angeles , California who makes his living as a manager and owner of a web design company . His search for an attractive partner runs like a thread through the entire first season. Stuart's roommate, Jessica, who is working on her breakthrough as an actress, keeps getting drawn into the happenings.
The work as a web designer also plays an important role in Stuart's advances. In the fifth episode, for example, his colleague (Kyle Mooney) points out that the company is making great strides in integrating the CSS framework . Stuart immediately uses this information to impress one of his ladies.
