Helmut Bauer (born August 17, 1928 ) is a former German soccer player who was active for the Munich clubs FC Wacker and FC Bayern .
Career
Bauer, most recently active in the 2nd Oberliga Süd for FC Wacker Munich , switched to the league club FC Bayern Munich in the 1951/52 season , for which he played 27 games and scored eleven goals in his first season in the top German division at the time. At the start of the season on August 19, 1951 against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , he was part of the team that won the league game 3-1 in the stadium on Grünwalder Strasse .
In the following season he scored six goals in 24 league games, in 1953/54 three in 30 and 1954/55 one in 14 league games. Due to the poor performance, he was relegated to the 2nd Oberliga Süd with FC Bayern Munich for the first time - and one time until today. In this it was only used six times. During his club membership he played 95 first division games, in which he scored 21 goals, and six second division games.
