Helmut Fechner

Helmut Fechner (born February 24, 1935 in Berlin ; † October 19, 2017 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1990 to 1995 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

biography

Fechner was head of department in the Robotron combine in the GDR . After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 he was one of the founders of the SDP and was elected to the Berlin city council. In the parliamentary elections in 1990 he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Treptow 2 and became the parliamentary director of his group. In 1995 he did not run again. In 1999 he resigned from the office of SPD district chairman in Treptow and resigned from the SPD in January 2002 in connection with the formation of the Wowereit II Senate .
