The Senate Wowereit II was formed on 17 January 2002 to 22 November 2006, the government of the country Berlin .
After the election to the Berlin House of Representatives ( 15th electoral term) on October 21, 2001, the previously ruling Red-Green Minority Senate failed to gain a majority. The coalition negotiations to form a traffic light coalition failed. Therefore a red-red coalition was formed.
