The Suhr Senate was the government of West Berlin from January 11, 1955 to October 3, 1957 . After Otto Suhr's death, Mayor Amrehn took over the official business of the Governing Mayor on a temporary basis until Willy Brandt was elected as the new Governing Mayor on October 3, 1957 .
