Helmut Fuchs (trumpeter)

Helmut Fuchs (* 1984 in Oberndorf near Salzburg ) is an Austrian trumpeter and has been the solo trumpeter of the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden since 2016 . Since 2018 he has been professor for trumpet at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden .

Life

Helmut Fuchs received his first trumpet lessons at the age of six from Martin Mühlfellner at the Salzburg Music School . At the age of 17 he moved to Igor Oder in 2001. During his time with the Salzburg Military Musicians in 2003/2004 he was also instructed by Oder. He then began his studies in concert and instrumental pedagogy in the trumpet, first with Gottfried Menth at the Mozarteum Salzburg, and from 2005 with Josef Pomberger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . In 2012 and 2013, respectively, he graduated with honors from both studies.

Since the beginning of his studies, he has been substituting in renowned European orchestras (including the Berlin Philharmonic , the Vienna State Opera Orchestra , the Vienna Philharmonic , the Nuremberg State Philharmonic , the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria , the Vienna Symphony Orchestra , the Bruckner Orchestra Linz , the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg , the Orchester Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo ).

In 2014, Fuchs became a trumpeter at the Nice Opera , and in 2016 finally solo trumpeter with the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden . Since 2018 he has also been teaching as a professor for trumpet at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden . He is also a member of the brass ensemble phil Blech Wien .

Fuchs holds master classes all over the world .
