Helmut Harbich

Helmut Harbich (born October 14, 1932 in Schnobolin (Slavonin) in the Olomouc district ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1953, he studied law and political science at the universities of Freiburg and Münster, passed the first state examination in 1957 and the second state examination in 1962, and was then a court assessor from 1962 to 1964. From 1964 to 1974 he worked as managing director and from 1975 to 1980 as managing director of the Mönchengladbach district craftsmen's association. Due to his state parliament mandate, he had been in temporary retirement since 1975 in accordance with the state legal status law. At the same time, he continued his work for the Mönchengladbach district craftsmen as a legal advisor and freelance research assistant until 1997. In 1980 he co-founded the youth development organization of the district craftsmen and was a managing board member until 2002.

Since 1953 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Arminia Freiburg im Breisgau .

Political party

Harbich joined the CDU in 1968, was deputy district party chairman from 1972 to 1994, from 1983 to 1985 a member of the Rhineland state board and from 1980 to 2000 a member of the board of the state association of medium-sized companies.

Member of the state parliament and other mandates

Harbich was councilor of the city of Mönchengladbach from 1969 to 1999. He headed the council's personnel committee and was a member of the administrative board of the Stadtsparkasse during the same period. From 1982 to 1999 he was chairman of the supervisory board of the city's non-profit housing and settlement company (GWSG). He was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 28, 1975 to June 1, 2000. His focus was the work in the labor and social committee as deputy chairman and spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.
