Helmut Heid

Helmut Heid (born March 21, 1934 in Cologne ) is a German educator .

Life

After studying economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne (graduate trade teacher), Heid received his doctorate. rer. pole. and was then habilitated. He then took over the representation of the chair for business education at the Free University of Berlin .

Heid was appointed to the newly founded chair for education at the University of Regensburg in 1969 and held this position until his retirement in 2002. During this period he was a member or chairman of various research societies:

  • 1978–1986: Member of the board of the German Society for Educational Science
  • 1982–1986: First chairman of the German Society for Educational Science
  • 1991–2000: Chairman of the Pedagogy Committee of the German Research Foundation

Heid received an honorary doctorate (Dr. hc) from the University of Bern on December 2, 2017.

Main focus of work and research

Heid is primarily concerned with the areas of the philosophy of science in education, research on talent, the relationship between education and employment systems. He also deals with educational policy maxims and programs.
