Helmut Hladisch

Helmut Hladisch (born June 26, 1961 in Vienna ) is an Austrian visual artist .

His oeuvre is primarily received within the Art brut categorization , which is, however, continuously discussed in the art-historical discourse.

Life and artistic career

Helmut Hladisch was born as one of eleven siblings. Until 2013 he lived with his family. As Hladisch had already attracted attention earlier due to his talent for drawing, he became a member of Maria Gugging in 2013 in the house of the artists . The artist currently lives there and works in the open studio of the Art / Brut Center Gugging .

Helmut Hladisch dedicates himself to filigree pencil and colored pencil drawings and at times to painting . In his drawings, the artist deals with a wide variety of objects in life and is the creator of characteristic, stylized depictions of trees.
