Helmut Horn (born January 15, 1955 in Munich , Bavaria ) is a German motor journalist and specialist book author. In this area he mainly deals with technical topics, tuning and chassis optimization and historic vehicles.

Life

After dropping out of university in Munich, he founded a vehicle trading company in 1977, which developed into a tuning company by the mid-1980s .

His journalistic activity began with catalogs that he designed himself. Those responsible for the magazines Hot Car Magazin and Chrom und Flammen became aware of this. At the end of the 1980s, Helmut Horn became editor-in-chief of VW Scene magazine , which he was in charge of until 1998. From 1999 to 2006 he was editor-in-chief for the magazines VW WOB and Sound Off .

As part of his work for brand-specific tuning magazines, Helmut Horn has been accompanying the GTI meeting from Wörthersee ( "the Woodstock of VW fans" ) in Reifnitz since 1989. He coined the term Wörtherseetour . Horn operates a portal at tuning.de . In addition, he is currently working on various publications such as Auto Bild Tuning .
