Helmut Hosung (born April 1, 1940 ; † November 12, 2017 in Lübeck) was a German football player .

Career

Hosung, who came to Eintracht Braunschweig from Union Salzgitter for the 1961/62 season , played under coach Hans-Georg Vogel in the Oberliga-Nord . On the first day of the season, August 6, 1961, he made his debut at the home game against SV Werder Bremen and scored the opening goal in the 13th minute to make it 1-0 (final score 1: 1). When the Bundesliga was introduced for the 1963/64 season , Hosung had played 39 league games for Eintracht in the past two years, in which he had scored ten goals. Eintracht had qualified for the first Bundesliga season with a 3rd place in the 1962/63 season. It not only changed the league affiliation, but also the coach of the Braunschweiger: The later master coach Helmuth Johannsen worked on the sidelines . Even under him, Hosung was one of the first squad. On the 1st matchday of the Bundesliga, he was on the pitch at TSV 1860 Munich . In his first Bundesliga season he made 23 appearances and four goals. In his second season, however, there were only nine appearances and two goals. The paths of Eintracht and Hosungs parted for the past season. From then on he played for VfB Lübeck in the regional league . The 1968/69 season , which ended with the runner-up, was the most successful Hosungs at VfB. Lübeck qualified for the promotion round for the Bundesliga through the runner-up. Hosung made 7 out of 8 possible missions in the promotion round, but the promotion did not succeed. Lübeck was last of the round and the club remained in the regional league. Hosung stayed in Lübeck until the end of the 1971/72 season . He completed a total of 130 regional league games from 1965 to 1972 for the Lohmühle team , scoring 15 goals.
