Helmut Kulitz

Helmut Rudolf Kulitz is a German diplomat and ambassador .

Life

After working at the German embassies in Cairo (1994–97) and Sofia (1997–2000), Kulitz was a member of the Human Rights Task Force at the Foreign Office from 2000 to 2003. From 2003 to 2007 he was first as First Secretary and later as Counselor at the Permanent Mission to the OSCE . In February 2007, as Counselor, he was one of the participants in the sixth winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly . From 2007 to 2009 he was permanent representative at the embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Between 2009 and 2012 he worked as a research coordinator in the planning staff of the Foreign Office in Berlin .

In July 2012, Kulitz became ambassador to Chad, successor to Claus Auer . In November 2012 he visited several aid projects funded by the Federal Republic of Germany for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Chad. After completing his work as German ambassador to the Republic of Chad (September 2015), Kulitz moved to the European External Action Service and took over the management of the European Union delegation in Libreville in Gabon (2015–19). Since his return to the Foreign Service of the Federal Republic of Germany in September 2019, he has been the permanent representative at the German embassy in Abuja / Nigeria.
