Helmut Münch (politician, 1939)

Helmut Münch (born July 5, 1939 in Golzow ) is a German politician (CDU). From 1990 to 2004 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony .

Münch attended school in Brandenburg and after graduating from high school, studied textile technology at the TU Dresden from 1957 to 1963 . After graduating from 1983 to 1990, he worked as a research assistant, computer center manager and division manager at what is now the Institute for Technical Textiles in Dresden. From July 1990 he was state structural representative and deputy head of the coordination committee for the education of the state of Saxony. He was non-party until 1989, after which he co-founded the Democratic Awakening party . After the merger with the CDU, he was its deputy state chairman. In October 1990 he was elected to the state parliament of Saxony, to which he was a member until 2004. Münch was also State Secretary to the State Minister for Economic Affairs and Labor .

On May 26, 1997 he was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal by Landtag President Erich Iltgen .
