Helmut Obermayer

Helmut Obermayer (* 1935 ; † 2015 ) was an Austrian basketball official and referee.

career

As a referee, Obermayer directed games in the national basketball league and from 1973 to 1982 also for the European basketball association FIBA Europe , including in the European Cup. After the end of his international arbitration activities, he was appointed FIBA ​​honorary arbitrator and remained in service for the association as a technical commissioner until 1995. In this role, he supervised the international and European Cup matches.

From 1989 to 1993 Obermayer, who was a member of the SPÖ for 46 years , was Vice President of the Austrian Basketball Association and from 1993 to 1996 Chairman of the Vienna Basketball Association.
