Helmut Pfister

Helmut Pfister (born July 14, 1927 in Würzburg ) was the penultimate president of the Central Postal Service in Darmstadt from 1977 to February 28, 1990 .

Life

He began his training at the Deutsche Bundespost in 1951 in the district of the Nuremberg Post Office . He then worked in Braunschweig, Cologne and Mülheim an der Ruhr. In 1962, he moved to the Federal Post Office as head of department , and was promoted to ministerial director in 1971.

During his tenure as President of the PTZ from March 1, 1977, among other things, he developed the letter distribution system , a new distribution technology for postal parcels and small parcels .
