Reinhold Meyer (lawyer)
Reinhold Meyer (born February 29, 1912 in Memel ; † December 21, 1992 in Darmstadt ) was President of the Central Postal Service in Darmstadt from 1964 to 1977 .
Life
After studying to become a Dr. jur. In 1937 he joined the service of the Deutsche Reichspost. As a department head, he worked in various offices in Berlin. Between 1940 and 1945 he took part in World War II as a soldier. After his Soviet captivity, he returned to his family, who had fled to Bremen, in 1949. He was head of department at the Oberpostdirektion there and, from 1954, head of department in the Federal Postal Ministry . Promotion to Ministerial Council took place in 1960.
During his tenure as President of the PTZ from March 1, 1964 to February 28, 1977, among other things, the introduction of data processing in the administration and in the postal giro and postal savings bank offices.
