Helmut Reik
Helmut Gottlieb Reik (born March 31, 1928 in Singen (Hohentwiel) ) is a German theoretical physicist who deals with the thermodynamics of irreversible processes.
Reik received his doctorate in 1954 at the TH Karlsruhe and was then an assistant at the RWTH Aachen until 1959 , where he completed his habilitation in 1957 ("Friction pressure tensor, diffusion and heat flow in highly inhomogeneous gases with Maxwellian interaction"). From 1959 to 1963 he was in the Philips central laboratory in Aachen. In 1963 he became a full professor for theoretical physics at the TU Braunschweig and in 1967 at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg .
