Helmut Schadenberg

Helmut Schadenberg (born June 19, 1946 ; † July 31, 2017 ) was a successful motocross driver in the GDR .

Life

The trained construction fitter, Schadenberg, started his motorsport career in 1962 as a motocross and off-road driver before he later concentrated exclusively on motocross. There he started in all three displacement classes advertised in the GDR. In the years up to 1976 he was in the top three around 230 times. After the 1980 season, Schadenberg said goodbye to active sport, but continued to make his experience available to the young riders.

Schadenberg was married and had two sons.
