Helmut Seebach
Helmut Seebach (born August 17, 1954 in Annweiler am Trifels - Queichhambach ) is a German folklorist , historian and cultural worker .
Career
Seebach graduated from the home school Annweiler am Trifels and from 1975 studied German, political science, journalism and folklore at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz .
From 1982 to 1985 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Historical Regional Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. In 1983 he founded the Bachstelz-Verlag and since then has been active as an author and publisher on social, economic, historical and folklore topics, primarily in the Palatinate, as well as in the Odenwald and Bavaria.
From 1985 to 1994 he worked as a journalist for EPF, ZDF, SWR and SR (radio), as well as a freelance newspaper journalist and media educator for the Rhineland-Palatinate State Film Service in Mainz. In addition, he became head of department for folklore at the Studium Generale Palatinum of the Palatinate adult education center.
In addition, Seebach is active as a cultural worker with several institutions in his hometown Queichhambach: 1. Public bookcase in the Palatinate, 1. Literamat der Pfalz, Platz der Literatur, “Kulturscheune im Bachstelznest”.
Works (selection)
Seebach has written more than 50 books, most of them in his own Bachstelz publishing house. The publishing program is geared towards an analytically critical description of the Palatinate's homeland and, in addition to numerous monographs, includes several Palatinate series:
