Helmut Stallknecht
Helmut Stallknecht (born January 27, 1935 , † March 13, 2003 ) was a German aquarist and specialist book author. His works include specialist books, over 900 articles in specialist aquarium literature and numerous lectures.
Stallknecht had been working as a non-fiction author since the late 1960s. Several of his books, such as a hundred tips for aquarists , became standard aquaristic works in the GDR. It was translated as Aquarium houden into Dutch, and aquarium fish as Les poissons d'aquarium into French. After the fall of the Wall, he wrote several books for Tetra Verlag . Stallknecht dealt with almost all areas of freshwater aquariums.
