Helmuth Volkwein

Helmuth Andreas Volkwein (born July 2, 1920 in Aubing ; † March 31, 2004 ) was a German graphic artist and painter.

Volkwein attended the primary school in Munich-Neuaubing and the vocational school for the graphic trade. After an apprenticeship with a degree in Munich , military service and a time in captivity, he also studied in Munich with Albert Fessler and O. Malura. In 1948 he started as a self-employed to work freelance painter and graphic artist. After becoming a member there in 1946, he was President of the Professional Association of Visual Artists in Munich from 1968 to 1978. From 1972, after initially serving on the executive committee, he was also President of the Bavarian State Professional Association of Visual Artists. From 1975 he was also a member of the presidium of the Association of Liberal Professions in Bavaria. From 1980 to 1985 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .
