history
Hemingford was founded as a village in 1886. The founder came from the Canadian community of Hemmingford and gave the village the name "Hemingford".
On September 24, 2002, a TV mast collapsed during a renovation. The accident cost the lives of two workers and three other people were injured. The workers failed to stabilize the mast while replacing the original components with stronger ones.
