Hemmelskamp is the name of a nature reserve in the north of the Lower Saxony city of Delmenhorst .
The nature reserve with the registration NSG WE 097 is 7.7 hectares in size. For the most part, it consists of forest, in which humid depressions and a small lake ("Die Kruschen Brake") are embedded. The depressions and the Kruschen Brake were created by catastrophic dike breaches during the February floods in 1572 from the central and upper Weser area.
The area has been a nature reserve since April 12, 1980. The aim of the protection is to protect a colony of gray herons located there . The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the city of Delmenhorst. Another nature reserve in Delmenhorst includes the Sandhauser Brake and Schwarze Brake .
