Hendrik "Ed" Brinksma (born September 16, 1957 in The Hague ) is a Dutch professor of computer science and since 2018 President of the Hamburg University of Technology .

Life

Brinksma studied mathematics at the University of Groningen with a specialization in mathematical logic . He graduated in 1982 with cum laude .

Act

Brinksma received her PhD in 1988 on LOTOS from the University of Twente.

In addition to formal methods , process calculation and model-based testing are Brinksma's academic focuses

In 1991 Brinksma was offered a professorship for formal methods at the University of Twente . In 2005 he moved to the Technical University of Eindhoven for a professorship in embedded systems . From 2009 to 2016 he was Rector Magnificus at the University of Twente. After his tenure, he received the award as an officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau . Brinksma spent the year following his presidency at the Stevens Institute of Technology and the Singapore University of Technology and Design . Brinksma was elected President of the TUHH on October 25, 2017 by the academic senate of the TU Hamburg-Harburg as the successor to Garabed Antranikian . He took office on February 1, 2018.
