Live and act

Hendrik Nehls learned to play the cello at the age of five and the double bass at the age of 13. He received his musical training from, among others, Stefan Weeke (Berlin), George Mraz (New York) and Buster Williams (New York). Tours with various bands took him to the USA and Switzerland as well as to China and Portugal.

Since 2007 he has been the band leader and bass player of "Jazz Royal". Besides him, Caroline Olbertz, Marcel van Cleef and Tilman Denecke play in the band. This ensemble mainly accompanies large company events and played for Angela Merkel, among others.

Hendrik Nehls has been a member of the band "Louise Gold & the Quarz Orchestra" in Berlin since 2010. The Quarz Orchestra consists of Louise Gold (vocals, songwriting), Hans Quarz (arranger, trombone), Florian Segelke (guitar), Hendrik Nehls (double bass), Rolf Langhans (piano) and Daniel Lunkenheimer (drums). In 2013 the band's first CD entitled "Debut" was released on the label "Skycap Records". The self-produced songs were recorded in the Berlin Lightning Recorders Studio. Only equipment from the 1950s and 1960s was used for recording and mastering.

In March 2014, Hendrik Nehls performed live with the pop band "Louise Gold" in the USA at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. Shortly afterwards they recorded the album Terra Caprice in Berlin, which stylistically moves between indie pop and Americana. Louise Gold - Terra Caprice was produced by Guy Sternberg in Berlin and was released in January 2015.
