Henri Stempffer

Henri Stempffer (born January 23, 1894 in Paris , † November 1, 1978 ibid) was a French entomologist .

Stempffer became a member of the Société entomologique de France in 1922 , of which he was president in 1943. He specialized in the examination of blues and became a worldwide specialist. In 1967 he published a comprehensive review of African species. Shortly before his death in 1977, he bequeathed his extensive collection to the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle .
