Joachim White

Joachim "Jochen" Weiß (born May 25, 1931 in Krone an der Brahe , today Poland ; † July 29, 2017 ) was a German police officer and trade unionist.

White attended the secondary school in Lichtenfels and the upper secondary school in Bamberg . After graduating from high school, he joined the Munich police in 1952 and worked in the police service from 1966 after passing the high-level service exam, so he headed two police stations in the city center. From 1989 he headed the Munich police station and was responsible for traffic monitoring. In 1987 he became a member of the Main Staff Council in the State Ministry of the Interior . From 1976 to 1989 he was chairman of the district staff council of the Munich police headquarters .

In 1961 he joined the police union , where he initially belonged to the local district group. Although he had not previously held a position in the executive board of the state, he was elected chairman of the GdP Bavaria in 1975, which he held until 1988. In addition, he was Deputy Federal Chairman of the GdP and was a member of the state board of the DGB Bavaria . He was also an honorary judge at the Munich Administrative Court and from 1986 to 1991 a member of the Bavarian Senate . In 1989 he was appointed honorary chairman of GdP Bayern.

In 1993, Weiß received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
