Henry Gauthier-Villars , better known under his nom de plume Willy (born August 8, 1859 in Villiers-sur-Orge , † January 12, 1931 in Paris ), was a French journalist, music critic and novelist.

In addition to his best-known pseudonym Willy , he also wrote as Henry Maugis , Robert Parville or Henry Willy .

He was the second-born son of the publisher Jean Albert Gauthier-Villars and had been married to the then unknown Colette since 1893 . Their famous Claudine novels initially bore his pseudonym Willy ; It was not until later that the true authorship became known that the four volumes are now given the name Colettes. From 1905 the couple went their separate ways and were divorced shortly afterwards. As Willy he worked in 1924 on the first French gay magazine Inversions .
